Notre Dame Island is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Regardless of the medium of transportation, it is very straightforward to travel in this area. Notre Dame Island is home to very good public transit infrastructure. For example, the closest rapid transit station, such as Jean-Drapeau Station and Station Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke (zone B on the Ligne 4 - Jaune, is generally a short distance away from the bulk of residences in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is served by over 50 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. Notre Dame Island is also a fairly convenient part of Montréal for pedestrians; many common errands can be run without needing a car, and numerous businesses are moderately close at hand. Notre Dame Island will draw active home buyers as it is rather suited for bicycling. More specifically, the cycling infrastructure is great.

Services

In this part of the city, families will often be able to access both primary and secondary schools by walking. However, families may find it difficult to reach daycares by foot. With respect to eating, purchasing one's groceries generally requires the use of a vehicle in this part of the city. Nevertheless, getting to the nearest pharmacy and accordingly some basic food items is typically convenient. This part of Montréal is a fairly good place in which to eat out, and there are also a few cafes in this neighbourhood.

Character

Notre Dame Island offers a great variety of green spaces to enjoy, despite its sometimes busy atmosphere. To be more precise, it is very easy to reach green spaces in the neighbourhood, since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to relax in and getting to a park from most properties is very easy. At the same time, the tree canopy coverage for the majority of streets is fairly bad. Noise can sometimes be an issue in this neighbourhood, as during busier hours of the day, traffic can occasionally be loud.
