The neighbourhood of York Mills is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of Toronto provides property owners with several alternative modes of transportation. With many nearby rapid transit stations on the Line 4 (Sheppard), and around 10 nearby bus lines, commuting by public transit is convenient in this part of Toronto. People who want to reside in a compact area will also enjoy the fairly pedestrian-friendly character of this neighbourhood; many day-to-day needs can be carried out without a vehicle, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Despite the fact that riding a bike is more feasible in certain sectors than others, cycling is challenging in this neighbourhood because the bicycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and there are a good number of slopes.

Services

House buyers in this part of Toronto will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a rather short distance away. Additionally, this part of the city is a fairly good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe. It is also a rather short stroll to a reasonable selection of clothing stores. Lastly, as there are few pedestrians, this part of the city remains relatively quiet; however those who are near Highway 401 or the railway line may experience more noise.

Housing

Most of the housing growth in York Mills occurred between 1960 and 1980. In this area, many buildings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings.
