Situated in the Greater Sudbury metropolitan area, Azilda is a community within Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

Transportation

The favoured method of transportation in this part of the city is very often driving. It is very easy to park. In contrast, the public transit service in Azilda is not very frequent. Thankfully, the community is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are commonly very close by. Azilda is not very convenient for pedestrians because meeting daily needs is impractical without the use of a vehicle. The bicycle is a rather poor mode of transportation in Azilda because the topography is not particularly flat, and the bicycling network is not very well-developed.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are easy to reach as a pedestrian from anywhere in this part of Greater Sudbury. On the other hand, this area does not contain any high schools. In terms of food, house buyers in Azilda will be pleased to learn that a grocery store is always only a short trip away. A small number of restaurants are available in Azilda as well.

Character

The character of Azilda is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. This part of Greater Sudbury is very quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, public green spaces, like Whitewaterlake Park, are very well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit, making them easy to reach.

Housing

Around 30% of properties in Azilda were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. In this area, many buildings are single detached homes, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Around 70% of the dwellings in the community are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented. This community offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
