Whytecliff is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent medium of transportation in Whytecliff. It is very easy to come across a parking spot, and many real estate listings are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway. On the other hand, the transit network in Whytecliff is quite bad. Thankfully, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally a short walk away. It is sometimes challenging to commute by bike in Whytecliff because bicycling is made arduous by the often steep topography, and there are very few bike lanes. Many of the houses for sale in this part of the municipality are located in areas that are also not very convenient for people who like to get around as pedestrians as running common errands is very difficult without a vehicle.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this neighbourhood. Moreover, it can be challenging to reach daycares as a pedestrian. In terms of eating, it is sometimes practical for home buyers in Whytecliff to do grocery shopping without the use of a car. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes in close proximity.

Character

Whytecliff offers a relaxed atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. This part of the municipality is very quiet, as the streets are usually very calm. Lastly, green spaces, including Whytecliff Park, are very well-situated and there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore, making it very easy to get to them.

Housing

Nearly 95% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 5% are rented. The predominant housing types in this part of West Vancouver are single detached homes and townhouses. Roughly one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
