Gleneagles

Gleneagles is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Gleneagles is especially car friendly. Most houses for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and coming across a place to park is generally easy. On the other hand, public transit users may find few choices in Gleneagles by reason of the low service level. Nonetheless, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. It is challenging to commute by bike in Gleneagles since riding is made arduous by the typically hilly topography, and the cycling network is not especially well-developed. Traveling by foot is also not very practical for house buyers in Gleneagles as running day-to-day errands is inconvenient without needing a car.

Services

It is a very short walk to reach primary schools from most properties for sale in Gleneagles. However, there are no high schools in this part of West Vancouver. When it comes to food, a grocery store is usually reachable within a short distance from anywhere in Gleneagles. There are also a few choices for those who appreciate close by restaurants and cafes.

Character

The character of Gleneagles is exemplified by its calm environment. This area is very quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially around Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, there are approximately 10 green spaces nearby for residents to visit, like Seaview Walk and Whytecliff Park, and they are very well-situated, which makes it easy to reach them from the majority of locations within Gleneagles.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Gleneagles are single detached homes and townhouses. Around one third of properties in this part of West Vancouver were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 15% are renters.
