Sunset Beach

The neighbourhood of Sunset Beach is part of the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in this part of the municipality. It is very convenient to park, and nearby highways are very easy to access from any home in this area. On the other hand, this neighbourhood is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually very close by. Biking is difficult in Sunset Beach because the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and bicycle riders encounter a significant amount of hills. Getting around as a pedestrian is also not very practical for residents in this neighbourhood since running daily errands is very impractical without a vehicle.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Sunset Beach. Additionally, there are only a very small number of daycares and thus they can be a very long stroll away. With respect to eating, it is very rarely an option for house buyers in Sunset Beach to travel to the closest grocery store without the need for a car.

Character

Sunset Beach offers a good selection of green spaces to enjoy. Parks are easy to reach since there are a few of them close by for residents to check out. It remains relatively serene in this part of West Vancouver, thanks to the presence of very few pedestrians.

Housing

In Sunset Beach, about 45% of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly small apartment buildings, duplexes, and townhouses. This part of the municipality has a good selection of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters. Around 30% of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
