Glenrosa

The neighbourhood of Glenrosa can be found in the municipality of West Kelowna, British Columbia, which is located in the Greater Kelowna metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is particularly car friendly. It is especially convenient to come across a place to park, and it is a reasonably short car ride to the closest highway, such as Highway 97C Offramp, from anywhere in Glenrosa. On the other hand, this area is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Glenrosa is not very bicycling-friendly since there are few bike lanes, and there are quite a few elevation changes. Getting around as a pedestrian is also not very practical for residents in this part of West Kelowna as very few daily needs can be carried out without a vehicle.

Services

House buyers in Glenrosa typically have to rely on a vehicle to do groceries. A small variety of restaurants is available in this area. In terms of education, primary schools and daycares are easy to access on foot from most houses for sale in Glenrosa. In contrast, it can be difficult to get to high schools without a vehicle.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a calm environment will enjoy Glenrosa. Accessing parks, such as Goats Peak Regional Park and Webber Road Community Centre, is easy from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood, since there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to visit and most properties for sale have a park very close by. This area is also wonderful for those who enjoy quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

Roughly 40% of homes in Glenrosa were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. The substantial percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. Around 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the remainder are rented. This part of West Kelowna offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
