Part of the Greater Prince George metropolitan area, Lansdowne is a neighbourhood within Prince George, British Columbia.

Transportation

Lansdowne is a very good part of Prince George for getting around by car. Finding a parking spot is generally easy. On the other hand, the transit system in Lansdowne is fairly poor. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually around the corner. Walking is not particularly practical for home buyers in this area since few daily errands can be run without a car. In contrast, the bike is a reasonably good means of transportation in Lansdowne.

Services

It is very easy to reach the nearest supermarket on foot in Lansdowne. Additionally, Lansdowne is a good place in which to go out to eat, and a limited variety of cafes is available as well. It is also easy to reach a variety of clothing stores without the need for a vehicle. Regarding education, it is a rather short trip to get to daycares and schools from most houses for sale in Lansdowne.

Character

Lansdowne has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. Although the atmosphere is not the liveliest in this area with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located around the corner. Lansdowne is reasonably quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic, however some parts can be quite loud, especially close to the airport (Prince George (Pacific Western Helicopters) Heliport). Green spaces are very well-spread out and there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to unwind in, which results in them being easy to get to from the majority of locations in this area.

Housing

In Lansdowne, about half of dwellings are mobile homes, while single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood took place between 1960 and 1980. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 15% are renters.
