Upper Sahali

The neighbourhood of Upper Sahali is part of the city of Kamloops, British Columbia, which is situated in the Greater Kamloops metropolitan area.

Transportation

Upper Sahali is very car friendly. The majority of homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, such as Columbia Offramp Street, and parking is easy. However, Upper Sahali is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, house owners are served by approximately 10 bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Cycling is easy in Upper Sahali. It is inconvenient for people walking to get around in this part of Kamloops since many daily needs are sometimes difficult to meet without a car.

Services

In Upper Sahali, parents and their children will usually be able to get to primary schools and daycares as pedestrians. However, there are only a few high schools and consequently they can be a rather long stroll away. With regards to food, it is challenging to reach the nearest supermarket as a pedestrian in Upper Sahali. In addition, this neighbourhood is a good place in which to go out to eat, for instance along Summit Drive, and a small variety of cafes can be found as well.

Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced ambience will enjoy Upper Sahali. There are approximately 40 parks nearby for residents to unwind in, such as Aberdeen Hills Highland Park and Gleneagles Park, and they are very well-situated, which makes it very easy to get to them. This area is also quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially near one of the 2 airports (Kamloops (Royal Inland Hospital) Heliport,Kamloops (Forestry District) Heliport), highway 5a or columbia street west.

Housing

Roughly 40% of properties in Upper Sahali were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. In this neighbourhood, about 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. Homeowners occupy roughly 70% of the properties in Upper Sahali and the remainder are rented. This area offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
