Rosewood

Part of the Greater Saskatoon metropolitan area, Rosewood is a neighbourhood within Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Transportation

The car is very often the favoured method to navigate Rosewood. Most homes for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, and it is especially convenient to access a place to park. However, commuting by transit can be difficult in Rosewood due to the infrequent service. Thankfully, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are generally very close by. Walking is not especially feasible for home buyers in Rosewood as very few common errands can be run without needing a vehicle. In contrast, Rosewood is moderately conducive to bicycling because there are a fair number of bike lanes, and there are a limited number of elevation changes.

Services

It is frequently possible for property owners in Rosewood to do grocery shopping without needing to get in a car. A limited selection of restaurants and cafes is available as well. Concerning education, it is a short distance to access daycares and primary schools from most houses for sale in this part of the city. However, Rosewood does not contain any high schools.

Character

Rosewood is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. The noise levels in this part of Saskatoon are very low, as the streets are generally very tranquil. Finally, there are about 20 green spaces close by for residents to explore, like Donna Birkmaier Park and Crocus Park, which makes it very easy to access them from most locations in the neighbourhood.

Housing

Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing roughly 40% of dwellings in Rosewood, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. This neighbourhood experienced its largest construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this time period. This part of the city offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly three quarters of the dwellings in Rosewood and the remainder are rented.
