Eastview

Part of the Greater Saskatoon metropolitan area, Eastview is a neighbourhood within Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Transportation

It is easy to get around by bike in this area since there are a limited number of elevation changes, and the cycling network is extensive. This area is also a fairly pleasant part of Saskatoon for pedestrians; many day-to-day errands can be run without needing to resort to a car. The public transit service in Eastview is not very frequent. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are generally around the corner. In contrast, the preferred mode of transportation in Eastview is usually driving. Nearby highways are very easy to reach from any location in Eastview, and it is convenient to find a place to park.

Services

A supermarket is generally reachable within a rather short stroll from most houses for sale in Eastview. Furthermore, a restaurant is usually just around the corner, and there are also a few cafes in this part of the city. It is also a reasonably short distance to a good choice of clothing stores, for example along Preston Avenue. Concerning education, daycares and schools are especially convenient to get to as a pedestrian from anywhere in Eastview.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Eastview is a good option. Most areas in Eastview are especially quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Lastly, even though the ambience is not the liveliest in this part of Saskatoon with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located a short walk away.

Housing

Over half of the housing stock of Eastview is composed of small apartment buildings and single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly townhouses. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood occurred between 1960 and 1980.
