Transportation

This area is a fairly pleasant part of Regina for pedestrians; many common errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle. However, it is at times challenging to commute by bike in Cityview as the bicycling infrastructure is sometimes poor. Nevertheless, there are a limited number of slopes for cyclists to brave. Cars are a very good transportation option in this neighbourhood. Nearby highways are especially easy to access from any location in this neighbourhood, and it is convenient to find a place to park. However, Cityview is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop.

Services

The nearest grocery store in Cityview is generally only a short trip away. Likewise, there are a good number of options for those who value nearby restaurants and cafes. A decent selection of clothing stores can also be found within a reasonably short walking distance. As far as education is concerned, families will appreciate that no matter where their home is located in Cityview, daycares and schools are nearby.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Cityview is a reasonably good option. Although this neighbourhood is not known for its vibrancy, with its a few bars, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located around the corner. Cityview is quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. There are around 20 public green spaces nearby for residents to discover, such as Mt. Pleasant Sports Park and Northeast Park, and they are especially well-spread out, making it very easy to get to them.

Housing

Roughly 70% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home and 30% are owners. Small apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing around half of dwellings in this area, and the remaining properties are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood took place between 1960 and 1980. This part of the city is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes.
