The neighbourhood of Pointe Louise can be found in the city of Montréal, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is usually the favoured way to navigate Pointe Louise. It is very easy to park. In contrast, this area is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, house owners have access to a few bus lines. Pointe Louise is not very conducive to pedestrians as running daily errands is very inconvenient without needing to use a vehicle. On the other hand, commuting by bicycle is straightforward in this neighbourhood.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of the city. Additionally, there are only a few daycares and therefore they can be a rather long trip away. With respect to food, shopping for one's groceries very often requires the use of a vehicle in this part of Montréal.

Character

Pointe Louise is a wonderful neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. This part of the city is very quiet overall, as the streets are especially peaceful. Lastly, greenery is very present in this neighbourhood as a large number of tree-lined streets are around. Parks, such as Parc-nature du Cap-Saint-Jacques, are especially well-located and there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover, which makes it very easy to reach them.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing the majority of dwellings in Pointe Louise, while small apartment buildings are the main alternative in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly 55% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder. Around 30% of properties in this part of the city were constructed in the 1980s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
