The neighbourhood of Old Longueuil can be found in the city of Longueuil, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Old Longueuil enables homeowners to travel by various modes of transportation. Thanks to Station Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke (zone B on the Ligne 4 - Jaune, and over 50 nearby bus lines, the reasonably good transit service allows people to get to many destinations without needing a car. Most homes for sale in this area are located in areas that are also rather suitable for people who like to get around by walking; many daily errands can be run without a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are fairly close at hand. Cycling is adopted in Old Longueuil since the cycling infrastructure is fairly good, and there are a limited number of hills.

Services

A grocery store is generally reachable within a short stroll from most houses for sale in Old Longueuil. Rue Saint-Charles is among the best streets for groceries. Furthermore, Old Longueuil is a good place in which to go out to eat, and home buyers benefit from a few cafes as well. With respect to education, it is a rather short trip to reach schools and daycares from most properties for sale in this area.

Character

Old Longueuil offers a relaxed atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. Most areas in this neighbourhood are very quiet, as the streets are generally very calm closer to Autoroute René-Lévesque. Lastly, the greenery in this neighbourhood is reasonably prominent as many tree-lined streets are present. There are approximately 30 parks nearby for residents to visit, including Parc Marie-Victorin and Parc Champêtre, and they are especially well-situated, which makes them easy to access from the majority of locations in this part of Longueuil.

Housing

Around one third of homes in Old Longueuil were constructed prior to the 1960s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. Roughly half of dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in this part of the city, but large apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock.
