Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Sector Y is a neighbourhood within Brossard, Quebec.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent mode of transportation in sector Y. Many houses for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Autoroute de l'Acier, and it is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, sector Y is not especially transit friendly. Thankfully, there is Du Quartier and Brossard with access to the Gare Centrale - Brossard. Property owners benefit from about 20 bus lines, and it is convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most homes. It is challenging for pedestrians to get around in sector Y as few common errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle. Even though cyclists do not encounter significant elevation changes, sector Y is not very suited for biking since there are few bike lanes.

Services

The nearest supermarket in sector Y is usually only a rather long trip away. Furthermore, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a limited number of cafes is available as well. With regards to education, daycares are convenient to get to as a pedestrian from any location in sector Y. However, sector Y does not have any primary schools or high schools.

Character

Sector Y is a neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a laid-back ambience. Sector Y is an excellent area for those who aren't bothered by some noise, since traffic during busier hours of the day can occasionally be bothersome. Greenery is not prominent in this part of the city - there are approximately 20 public green spaces close by for residents to relax in.

Housing

Homeowners occupy roughly two thirds of the properties in sector Y and renters occupy the remainder. In this part of the city, about half of dwellings are small apartment buildings, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes. This part of Brossard experienced its most significant construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this time period. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes.
