Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Beacon Hill is a neighbourhood within Beaconsfield, Quebec.

Transportation

This neighbourhood has fairly good public transit owing to Gare Beaconsfield on the 11 - Vaudreuil/Hudson, and about 10 nearby bus lines. In contrast, it is at times challenging for people travelling on foot to move around in this area because running common errands is sometimes difficult without the use of a car. Beacon Hill is not especially conducive to bicycling as the area is not especially flat, and the cycling infrastructure is somewhat poor. In contrast, Beacon Hill is an extremely good part of Beaconsfield for moving around by car. Parking is quite easy, and many real estate listings are a short drive from the closest highway.

Services

The nearest supermarket in Beacon Hill is generally only a reasonably short stroll away. Likewise, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and a limited variety of coffee shops can be found as well. As far as education is concerned, schools and daycares are convenient to reach on foot from any location in Beacon Hill.

Character

Beacon Hill is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. This area features a fair amount of greenery as there are many tree-lined streets. Parks are easy to get to since there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to explore. This neighbourhood is also very quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing almost all dwellings in Beacon Hill. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this part of Beaconsfield. Nearly 95% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 5% are occupied by renters. This part of Beaconsfield experienced its biggest building boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period.
