Malden

Part of the Greater Windsor metropolitan area, Malden is a neighbourhood within Windsor, Ontario.

Transportation

Cars are a great mode of transportation in Malden. It is a very short drive to the nearest highway, such as E C Row Expressway, from any location in this part of the city, and it is very easy to park. On the other hand, the transit service in Malden is quite bad. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. Malden is cycling-friendly as cyclists do not encounter significant elevation changes, and there are a good number of bike lanes. Walking is not very practical for residents in Malden as most daily needs are occasionally challenging to meet without needing to resort to a car.

Services

It is very rarely an option for house buyers in this part of Windsor to purchase their groceries by walking. Residents can enjoy around 10 restaurants and coffee shops as well. When it comes to education, parents and their schoolchildren will value that no matter where their property is located in this area, schools and daycares are nearby.

Character

There is a very good selection of green spaces in Malden. Accessing parks in the neighbourhood, including Windsor Raceway and Spring Garden ANSI, is very easy since there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to check out. As there are very few pedestrians, this part of Windsor remains relatively calm.

Housing

The homes in this neighbourhood are very modern, since roughly one third of its dwellings were constructed after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. The substantial percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this part of Windsor is an important part of its character. About 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 15% are rented. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
