Situated within the Greater Windsor metropolitan area, City Centre is a neighbourhood within Windsor, Ontario.

Transportation

This part of the city will appeal to house buyers that use various modes of transportation. Getting around as a pedestrian is very convenient for home buyers in City Centre; many daily errands can be run without a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are moderately close by. The bike is a good mode of transportation in City Centre as the bicycling infrastructure is well-developed, and there are a limited number of hills. The fairly good transit makes transit a viable option for many owing to various rapid transit stations on the Detroit People Mover, and about 20 nearby bus lines. Moving around by car is also convenient in City Centre as it is commonly not too problematic to access a place to park.

Services

In this area, families will typically be able to reach daycares and schools without needing a car. Regarding eating, it is especially convenient to access the closest grocery store on foot in City Centre. Wyandotte Street is among the best streets for groceries. Likewise, thanks to over 50 restaurants and a few coffee shops, this neighbourhood is a good area in which to eat out. Residents have access to a fair number of nearby clothing stores.

Character

City Centre is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this neighbourhood. Although the atmosphere is not the liveliest in this part of the city, its main streets are still quite lively, and with its approximately 20 bars, there are options for nighttime activities. City Centre is quiet, as the streets tend to be calm. Access to parks in the neighbourhood, such as Centennial Park and Great Western Park, is easy since there are approximately 20 of them nearby for residents to discover.

Housing

Most dwellings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in City Centre, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and single detached homes. About 40% of properties in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
