Lincoln

Part of the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area, Lincoln is a neighbourhood within Waterloo, Ontario.

Transportation

Lincoln is an extraordinarily good part of Waterloo for getting around by car. The majority of real estate listings are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 85, and parking is easy. However, Lincoln is not an especially pleasant part of Waterloo for travelling by public transit. Thankfully, property owners can depend on Conestoga Station on the ION Light Rail. There are approximately 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Lincoln, despite the fact that many daily needs can be carried out without a car. On the other hand, Lincoln is conducive to biking because there are a limited number of elevation changes.

Services

Parents and their schoolchildren will appreciate that wherever their home is located in Lincoln, daycares and primary schools are close by. On the other hand, it can be very hard to reach high schools on foot. When it comes to food, it is often practical for property owners in Lincoln to do their grocery shopping without needing to get in a car. Furthermore, Lincoln is a fairly good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Lincoln is a fairly good option. Although the atmosphere is not the liveliest in this part of the city with its a few nightlife venues, it is easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located a short distance away. Lincoln is very quiet overall, as the streets are especially peaceful. Getting to parks, such as Anndale and Kaufman Flats, is easy from many locations within the neighbourhood since there are over 50 of them close by for residents to unwind in.

Housing

Homeowners occupy about two thirds of the units in the neighbourhood and the remainder are rented. In this neighbourhood, about 55% of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest of the homes are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. Around 40% of properties in this part of Waterloo were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. This neighbourhood has a good choice of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
