Located within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, The Queensway is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario.

Transportation

Regardless of the mode of transportation, it is moderately simple to move around in this neighbourhood. The Queensway is home to a good public transit network. Homeowners are served by the Mimico with access to the Lakeshore West. There are about 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. House buyers who value residing in a walkable community will also be pleased with the pedestrian-friendly character of this area; carrying out day-to-day needs is convenient without a car, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Biking is convenient in The Queensway since there are a limited number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave.

Services

A supermarket is generally reachable within a short stroll from any home in this part of Toronto. Likewise, The Queensway is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe. House buyers have access to a good number of nearby clothing stores. When it comes to education, it is a short stroll to reach schools and daycares from most properties for sale in The Queensway.

Character

The character of The Queensway is exemplified by its calm ambience. This area is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however noise can be problematic near F G Gardiner Expressway. Lastly, there is a good amount of greenery in this area as there are many tree-lined streets. Parks are especially well-spread out and there are about 40 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, resulting in them being very easy to get to from a large number of locations in The Queensway.

Housing

The majority of the housing stock of The Queensway consists of large apartment buildings and single detached homes, and the remaining dwellings are mainly large apartment buildings. Around 40% of homes in this part of the city were built pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 2000s. This neighbourhood has a good selection of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented.
