Transportation

Cars are a great transportation option in Hillside. It is very easy to come across a parking spot. In contrast, the transit infrastructure in Hillside is not very practical. Nonetheless, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. Hillside is rather cycling-friendly. On the other hand, many of the houses for sale in this part of Toronto are located in areas that are not very well-suited for those who prefer to travel as pedestrians as common amenities such as hardware stores or hair salons can be an extended walk away.

Services

Families will welcome that wherever their house is located in Hillside, primary schools are nearby. However, high schools are not plentiful and thus not always within walking distance. With regards to eating, it is rarely an option for home buyers in Hillside to travel to the closest supermarket as pedestrians. A small number of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

The character of Hillside is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. This part of Toronto is very quiet overall, as the streets are usually very calm. Lastly, the greenery in this area is especially prominent as there are a large number of tree-lined streets. Green spaces, such as Beare Hill Park, are very well-situated and there are a few of them close by for residents to check out, which results in them being very easy to reach from the majority of locations within this area.

Housing

Hillside experienced its biggest construction boom between 1990 and 2000, so most of the available properties are from this time period. In this part of Toronto, about 20% of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the houses are mainly duplexes.
