The former municipality of East York can be found in the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

No matter the mode of transportation, it is moderately straightforward to travel in this former municipality. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are rather suitable for people who prefer to get around on foot; many day-to-day needs can be met without a vehicle, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. East York is also fairly amenable to cycling. The public transit network in East York is very convenient owing to plenty of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth), and over 50 nearby bus lines. Cars are also a good transportation option in this part of the city. Most houses for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, such as Don Valley Parkway.

It is straightforward to access both a general and a specialty grocery store by foot from anywhere in East York. Bayview Avenue is among the best streets for groceries. When it comes to education, parents and their kids will value that wherever their home is located in this former municipality, daycares and schools are close by.

Character

East York is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this former municipality. East York is very good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. However, greenery is quite prominent in this former municipality; green spaces, such as Stan Wadlow Park and Moore Park Ravine, are very well-distributed and there are over 200 of them nearby for residents to relax in, which makes it very easy to access them. Furthermore, residents will find that the tree canopy coverage for the majority of streets is reasonably good. Finally, although the ambience is not the liveliest in this area, its busier streets can still be quite energetic, and with its around 20 nightlife venues, there are options for nighttime activities. Main streets, like Donlands Avenue, are very good for those who enjoy going out.
