Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Cricket Club is a neighbourhood within Toronto, Ontario.

Transportation

Cricket Club presents property owners with the choice between various modes of transportation. This neighbourhood is home to a reasonably good public transit network as a result of 2 rapid transit stations (York Mills Station - Southbound Platform and York Mills Station - Northbound Platform) on the Line 1 (Yonge-University), and approximately 20 nearby bus lines. Cricket Club is also rather suitable for those who like to travel by walking; running common errands is easy without a car, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. This area is rather cycling-friendly.

Services

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short distance away in Cricket Club. Likewise, with 50-odd restaurants and cafes in this neighbourhood, there is generally a place to get a meal or beverage just around the corner. Property owners have access to many nearby clothing stores. With respect to education, families will value that wherever their home is located in Cricket Club, schools and daycares are close by.

Character

Cricket Club is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this area. Although the ambience is not the most lively in this neighbourhood, its main streets can still be quite energetic, and finding one of the a few bars is very easy because they are generally located around the corner. Cricket Club is quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic, although that is not the case close to Highway 401. The greenery in this part of Toronto is especially prominent; there are around 20 green spaces nearby for residents to visit, including Earl Bales Park, and they are very well-situated, making them easy to reach. Moreover, residents will find that there are a large number of tree-lined streets.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing roughly half of buildings in Cricket Club, and the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. Roughly 40% of homes in this neighbourhood were built pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This part of Toronto also has a good variety of unit sizes; houses range from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder.
