Crescent Town

Crescent Town is a neighbourhood within Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is a very good neighbourhood with respect to travelling without a car. Most houses for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are reasonably suitable for pedestrians; running common errands is easy without a car, and a variety of businesses are fairly close by. It is also very easy to commute by bicycle in Crescent Town since the cycling infrastructure is moderately comprehensive. The transit access in Crescent Town is very good as a consequence of plenty of nearby rapid transit stations on the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth), and about 20 nearby bus lines. On the other hand, Crescent Town is not an especially good part of Toronto for driving because many homes for sale are a very long car ride from the closest highway, and coming across a place to park is not especially easy.

Services

Schools and daycares are very convenient to get to on foot from most properties for sale in Crescent Town. When it comes to food, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away in this part of the city. Moreover, Crescent Town is a good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe. It is also straightforward to access a selection of clothing stores without needing a car.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Crescent Town is a fairly good option. Although this part of the city is not known for its vibrancy, its busier streets are still quite lively, and with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is sometimes hard to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located relatively close by. Crescent Town is very good for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Greenery is present in this part of Toronto; there are around 40 green spaces nearby for residents to enjoy, such as Stan Wadlow Park and Dentonia Park, and they are very well-distributed, resulting in them being very easy to reach from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood. In addition, residents will find that there are numerous tree-lined streets.

Housing

The sizeable percentage of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of Crescent Town is an important part of its character. This part of the city offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes. Renters occupy around 70% of the properties in Crescent Town while the remainder are occupied by owners. This part of the city experienced its biggest building boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available housing stock is from this era.
