Pido

Part of the Greater Peterborough metropolitan area, Pido is a neighbourhood within Peterborough, Ontario.

Transportation

The favoured way to navigate Pido is usually driving. It is very convenient to park, and the city block layout is fairly amenable to getting around by car. However, the transit access in Pido is not very convenient. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. Walking is not very practical for property owners in Pido because running daily errands is occasionally difficult without a car. This part of Peterborough is also not very cycling-friendly because the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and the terrain is not particularly flat. Thankfully, some enjoyable areas for cycling exist.

Services

Daycares are easy to access without a car from most houses for sale in this area. In contrast, there are no primary schools and no high schools in this neighbourhood. When it comes to eating, a grocery store is generally accessible within a rather long distance from any location in Pido. Additionally, this area is a good place in which to eat out, and home buyers are served by a few cafes as well.

Character

Pido offers a wide variety of green spaces to enjoy. There are about 10 parks nearby for residents to visit, including Beavermead Park and Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park, and they are very well-distributed, resulting in them being easy to get to from the majority of locations in Pido. Lastly, this part of the city is a great area for those who don't mind a little noise, since traffic can occasionally be loud during busier hours of the day.

Housing

Around 40% of properties in Pido were built between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing about 55% of dwellings in this neighbourhood, and the rest of the homes are mainly duplexes. Homeowners occupy roughly 60% of the units in Pido and 40% are rented. This neighbourhood also has a choice of housing size options; however this part of Peterborough is particularly good for those looking for three bedroom homes.
