Transportation

Many of the homes for sale in this part of Peterborough are located in areas that are reasonably conducive to people who prefer to get around as pedestrians; most daily needs are convenient to carry out without a vehicle. Commuting by bicycle is also easy in this neighbourhood. Greenhill is very car friendly. Parking is generally easy. In contrast, the public transit system in this part of Peterborough is not very accessible. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop.

House buyers in Greenhill will be pleased to learn that a grocery store is always only a short trip away. Likewise, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. It is also convenient to access a number of clothing stores as a pedestrian. In terms of education, daycares and primary schools are straightforward to get to by foot from anywhere in this area. On the other hand, parents may consider it challenging for their kids to access high schools as pedestrians.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Greenhill is a fairly good option. Greenhill is quiet, as the streets are usually calm, although that is not the case near the airport (Peterborough (Civic Hospital) Heliport). However, there are around 30 public green spaces close by for residents to discover, including Kinsmen Park, and they are especially well-situated, which makes them easy to get to. Finally, although the atmosphere is not the liveliest in this part of the city with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is easy to find a place to grab a drink since they are generally located relatively close by.

Housing

In Greenhill, around one third of dwellings are large apartment buildings, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and single detached homes. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Roughly 60% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters whereas the remainder are occupied by owners. Roughly 45% of homes in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
