Transportation

This part of Ottawa provides property owners with several alternative modes of transportation. Island Park is especially transit friendly. More precisely, the nearest rapid transit station, including Colombine/Holland, chemin d'AYLMER/SAMUEL-DE-CHAMPLAIN and Scott / Stirling on the Pré Tunney and Rapibus 800, is ordinarily around the corner from most homes in the neighbourhood. There are over 50 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. It is also convenient for pedestrians to get around in this area; meeting day-to-day needs is easy without needing a vehicle, and many businesses are moderately close at hand. Island Park is a very pleasant part of Ottawa for bike riders. In particular, Island Park boasts good cycling infrastructure, and the topography is fairly flat.

Services

In this area, parents and their schoolchildren will generally be able to get to daycares and schools as pedestrians. Regarding food, home buyers in Island Park will appreciate that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short trip away. Island Park is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this part of Ottawa. Island Park is quiet overall, as the streets are quite peaceful. Lastly, even though this area is not known for its vibrancy, the vibe can still be quite lively around its busier streets, and with its about 10 bars, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located around the corner.
