Part of the Greater Oshawa metropolitan area, Columbus is a neighbourhood within Oshawa, Ontario.

Transportation

Driving is a great means of transportation in Columbus. It is very convenient to park. However, Columbus is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines. Columbus is not very appropriate for bicycling as the cycling infrastructure is quite bad, and there are a good number of elevation changes. Columbus is also not very conducive to pedestrians because very few daily needs can be carried out without the use of a car.

Services

In most cases, a car is needed to do groceries. Nevertheless, it is generally a short walk to the closest pharmacy, which can supply some staple foods. There are also a few choices for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes in close proximity. With regards to education, it is a reasonably short trip to access daycares from anywhere in this part of Oshawa. However, there are no primary schools and no high schools in Columbus.
