Harrison

Located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Harrison is a neighbourhood within Milton, Ontario.

Transportation

Driving is often the best approach to get around in this part of the town. It is convenient to find a parking spot. However, travelling by public transit is challenging in this neighbourhood. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. It is easy to commute by bike in this part of Milton as the bicycling infrastructure is rather comprehensive, and it is an even ride to most locations. Harrison is not especially suitable for pedestrians because meeting day-to-day needs is difficult without a vehicle.

Services

Home buyers in Harrison will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short stroll away. Furthermore, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and there are also a few coffee shops in Harrison. As far as education is concerned, it is a reasonably short walk to reach daycares and primary schools from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood. On the other hand, parents may consider it very difficult for their kids to access high schools without a car.

Character

The character of Harrison is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. Public green spaces, like Sunny Mount Park, are very well-spread out and there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to enjoy, which makes it easy to access them. This neighbourhood is also excellent for those who prefer quiet areas, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Housing

In Harrison, many buildings are single detached homes, while townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the units in the neighbourhood and the rest are rented. Most housing in this part of Milton was constructed after the year 2000, during its largest construction boom.
