Trillium

Located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area, Trillium is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario.

Transportation

The car is usually the favoured transportation option in Trillium. It is very convenient to park, and it is a rather short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, from any home in Trillium. Although there are not many slopes to confront cyclists, it is difficult to commute by bicycle in this part of the city as there are few bike lanes. A majority of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also not very well-suited for people who get around on foot as very few day-to-day errands can be run without the need to use a vehicle.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Trillium. Moreover, it can be challenging to get to daycares as a pedestrian. When it comes to eating, in all but a few cases, a vehicle is needed to do groceries. Nonetheless, it is generally a reasonably short walk to the closest pharmacy, which can supply some basic food items. Residents of Trillium benefit from a few restaurants as well.

Character

Trillium is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. Trillium is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour closer to Queen Elizabeth Way. Green spaces aren't well-situated, which makes it occasionally hard to get to them. Despite that, there are a few parks nearby for residents to visit.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing around 55% of dwellings in Trillium, while townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. There is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this neighbourhood. Roughly 80% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 20% are rented. This part of Hamilton experienced its most significant construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period.
