Gilbert is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of the city is rather well-suited for pedestrians; most daily needs are easy to carry out without needing a car. However, this neighbourhood is not particularly appropriate for cycling because the topography is not especially flat, and the bicycling network is not very comprehensive. This part of Hamilton is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. In contrast, driving is very often the favoured method of transportation in Gilbert. It is a short drive to the nearest highway, such as Lincoln M Alexander Parkway, from any location in Gilbert, and it is convenient to access a place to park.
