Bayview

Bayview is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Bayview is particularly car friendly. Many houses for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, and finding a place to park is generally easy. This part of Hamilton is not very bike-friendly as there are a good number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and the cycling network is rather poor. Bayview is also not very well-suited for people who travel by walking as very few common errands can be run without a car.

It is rarely possible for house buyers in Bayview to access the nearest grocery store by walking. Nonetheless, it is generally a reasonably short stroll to the closest pharmacy, which can supply some staple foods. There are also a few choices for those who appreciate close by restaurants and cafes. With respect to education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Bayview. In addition, parents may consider it difficult for their children to get to daycares by foot.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a relaxed environment will enjoy Bayview. This part of Hamilton is reasonably quiet, as the streets are usually quite peaceful - however noise can be problematic near Queen Elizabeth Way. Finally, there are a few parks nearby for residents to discover and they are very well-located, making them easy to reach.

Housing

Roughly half of dwellings are single detached homes, making it easy to find detached homes in Bayview, while the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. About one third of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1990s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 90% of the properties in Bayview and 10% are rented.
