The neighbourhood of Orono is part of the municipality of Clarington, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Oshawa metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is very often the best approach to get around in Orono. Parking is quite easy, and it is a very short car ride to the closest highway, such as Highway 35 & 115, from anywhere in Orono. However, the transit network in Orono is rather poor. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. This area is not particularly amenable to biking because the cycling network is not very well-developed, and the terrain is not very flat. It is also very impractical for pedestrians to move around in Orono because many daily needs are difficult to meet without a car.

Services

Primary schools are convenient to reach as a pedestrian from anywhere in this area. On the other hand, this part of Clarington does not have any high schools. With regards to eating, it is rarely feasible for home buyers in Orono to buy their groceries by foot. Nevertheless, getting to the closest pharmacy and accordingly some staple foods is generally very easy. There are also a few restaurants in Orono.
