Hillcrest is very car friendly. It is convenient to park, and it is a rather short drive to the closest highway from any location in this part of the city. On the other hand, the transit network in Hillcrest is rather poor. Nevertheless, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically around the corner. This part of Cambridge is appropriate for biking. Hillcrest is not very conducive to those who travel as pedestrians since running common errands is inconvenient without the use of a car.
