Shore Drive

Shore Drive is a neighbourhood within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great medium of transportation in Shore Drive. Nearby highways are moderately easy to reach from anywhere in this part of the municipality, and it is very easy to come across a parking spot. On the other hand, residents using public transit may have limited options in this area due to the service's low frequency. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Shore Drive is not particularly conducive to bicycling because cyclists are faced with a significant amount of slopes, and the cycling network is sometimes poor. Traveling as a pedestrian is also not very common in Shore Drive, even though many daily needs are easy to carry out without a car.

Services

In this part of Halifax, parents and their children will usually be able to get to daycares and high schools as pedestrians. On the other hand, there are no primary schools in this part of the municipality. Around 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s.
