Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Portland Estates is a neighbourhood within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in Portland Estates. Parking is quite easy, and many real estate listings are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway. In contrast, the public transit system in this area is not very practical. Nonetheless, there are around 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. This part of the municipality is reasonably bicycling-friendly. It is occasionally challenging for people walking to move around in Portland Estates because few common errands can be run without a vehicle.

Services

House buyers in this part of Halifax will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short distance away. There are also a limited number of choices for those who care about close by restaurants and cafes. As far as education is concerned, primary schools and daycares are straightforward to get to on foot from any location in Portland Estates. In contrast, there are only a few high schools and accordingly they can be an extended distance away.
