Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Lakeview is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Lakeview is an extremely good part of Halifax for moving around by car. It is very convenient to park. However, getting around by transit can be very difficult in Lakeview due to the low service level. Thankfully, the community is linked by a few bus lines. Walking is not very feasible for home buyers in this part of Halifax as very few common errands can be run without needing to use a car. Lakeview is also not very conducive to biking as the cycling infrastructure is quite bad, and there are a fair number of slopes for cyclists to brave.

Services

A car is typically required in this community to reach the closest supermarket. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate close by restaurants. In terms of education, this community does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Moreover, parents and their kids may find it challenging to reach daycares by walking.

Character

There is a good selection of green spaces in Lakeview. Parks are easy to reach since there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore. It is relatively quiet in this area, thanks to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets.

Housing

About one quarter of homes in Lakeview were built in the 1980s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
