Situated within the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Dartmouth is a community in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

A majority of the houses for sale in this area are located in places that are reasonably conducive to people who like to get around as pedestrians; many daily errands can be run without needing to resort to a car. Commuting by bicycle is also easy in this part of Halifax. The public transit service in this part of Halifax is not particularly frequent. Nevertheless, the community is served by over 50 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually very close by. However, the car is very often the best method to navigate this part of Halifax. Most houses for sale are a rather short drive from the closest highway, and accessing a place to park is generally easy.

Services

In most, if not all, cases, a car is required in this part of the municipality to access one of about 30 supermarkets. Nevertheless, it is generally a short walk to the nearest pharmacy, which can provide some basic food items. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate close by restaurants. As far as education is concerned, both primary and secondary schools are easy to access by foot from anywhere in this part of the municipality. In contrast, parents and their schoolchildren may consider it very difficult to reach daycares by foot.
