Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Oakmount is a neighbourhood within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is an extraordinarily good part of Halifax for driving. It is especially convenient to park, and nearby highways are particularly easy to drive to from anywhere in Oakmount. In contrast, the transit service in this area is not very practical. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most residences. Many of the homes for sale in this area are located in places that are not especially convenient for those who prefer to travel by walking because carrying out daily needs is at times challenging without needing to get in a vehicle. This neighbourhood is also not very suited for bicycling because the topography is not very flat, and there are few bike lanes.

Services

It is a short stroll to reach daycares and high schools from anywhere in Oakmount. In contrast, this neighbourhood does not have any primary schools. With respect to eating, it is usually feasible for home buyers in Oakmount to purchase their groceries by walking. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes. Moreover, it is easy to get to a variety of clothing stores without a car.
