Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in this part of Fredericton. It is very convenient to park, and nearby highways are very easy to reach from anywhere in this neighbourhood. However, the public transit service in Southwood Park is fairly poor. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. This part of the city is moderately bicycling-friendly. Southwood Park is not very well-suited for people who like to get around as pedestrians as very few daily needs can be met without the use of a car.

Services

In all but a few cases, a car is needed to shop for groceries. There are also a limited number of options for those who value restaurants within a short distance. As far as education is concerned, both primary and secondary schools are convenient to access as a pedestrian from most properties for sale in this neighbourhood. In contrast, families may find it difficult to get to daycares on foot.

Character

Southwood Park offers a relaxed environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. Public green spaces are very well-distributed and there are about 10 of them close by for residents to unwind in, which makes it easy to access them. This part of Fredericton is very quiet overall, as the streets are usually especially tranquil.

In Southwood Park, many dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and duplexes are also present in the housing stock.
