Eagle Harbour

The neighbourhood of Eagle Harbour is part of the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great medium of transportation in this area. It is very convenient to park, and the majority of houses for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. On the other hand, getting around by public transit is challenging in this neighbourhood. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. It is at times difficult to move around by bike in this part of West Vancouver because the cycling network is not very comprehensive, and cyclists encounter a significant amount of slopes. Nevertheless, a few enjoyable pockets for bicycling can be found. Walking is also not very practical for home buyers in this neighbourhood because meeting day-to-day needs is very impractical without a vehicle.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are easy to reach as a pedestrian from any location in Eagle Harbour. However, there are only a very small number of high schools and consequently they can be a very long trip away. Concerning food, a car is often required in Eagle Harbour to access the nearest grocery store. A limited variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well.

Character

The character of Eagle Harbour is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet, as the streets are quite calm - although that is not the case around the railway line, Trans-Canada Highway or Highway 99. Lastly, there are approximately 10 public green spaces close by for residents to discover, such as Nelson Canyon Park and Seaview Walk, which makes them easy to access from most locations within this part of the municipality.

Housing

Roughly one third of homes in Eagle Harbour were built between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in this neighbourhood. Homeowners occupy nearly 90% of the dwellings in Eagle Harbour and 10% are rented. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
