Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Chelsea Park is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Getting around by car is very convenient in this part of West Vancouver. It is very convenient to access a place to park, and nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are very easy to reach from anywhere in Chelsea Park. On the other hand, residents using public transit may find very few options in this part of West Vancouver due to the infrequent service. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are ordinarily relatively close by. Getting around on foot is not very practical for home buyers in Chelsea Park since very few daily errands can be run without a vehicle. The bicycle is a rather poor mode of transportation in Chelsea Park as there are quite a few slopes, and the cycling network is not very extensive.

Services

There are only a very small number of high schools in Chelsea Park and consequently they can be a very long walk away. Furthermore, this part of the municipality does not have any primary schools. In addition, daycares are not very plentiful and accordingly not always within walking distance. With respect to eating, in all but a few cases, a vehicle is needed in Chelsea Park to access the closest supermarket. There are a few choices for those who appreciate nearby restaurants.

Character

Chelsea Park is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. It is easy to access public green spaces since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover. This area is also very good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case around Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

In Chelsea Park, about 45% of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood also has a good variety of housing size options - it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The split between renters and homeowners is about even. Roughly one third of homes in this part of the municipality were constructed after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
