Chartwell

The neighbourhood of Chartwell is part of the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Chartwell is an extraordinarily convenient part of West Vancouver for moving around by car. The majority of real estate listings are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as taylor way, and it is very easy to park. In contrast, the transit infrastructure in this part of West Vancouver is not very accessible. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and it is very easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. Chartwell is not very suited for cycling since there are few bike lanes, and bicycling is made strenuous by the typically steep terrain. Most homes for sale in this part of the municipality are located in areas that are also not very convenient for pedestrians since few daily needs can be met without the use of a vehicle.

Services

It is sometimes feasible for property owners in this neighbourhood to access the nearest supermarket by walking. However, this part of West Vancouver is a good place in which to eat out. With regards to education, daycares and schools are easy to reach on foot from most properties for sale in Chartwell.

Character

The character of Chartwell is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. There are around 20 public green spaces close by for residents to discover, like Hollyburn Country Club, resulting in them being very easy to reach from a lot of locations within the neighbourhood. This area is also very good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case closer to Taylor Offramp Way or Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

About three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder. In this area, the vast majority of buildings are single detached homes, while duplexes are also present in the housing stock. About 40% of properties in this part of West Vancouver were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
