Transportation

Fairview is an excellent part of Vancouver when it comes to travelling without driving. This area is especially suitable for those who like to get around by foot; all common errands can be run without a car, and innumerable businesses of different types can be found as well. This neighbourhood is also a very convenient part of Vancouver for cyclists. In particular, bike-share stations are seldomly more than a short distance away, and the cycling network is reasonably comprehensive. Thanks to various nearby rapid transit stations on the Canada Line and Expo Line, and approximately 30 nearby bus lines, this area benefits from very good transit access. However, driving is a fairly poor transportation option in Fairview as it is very difficult to park.

Services

It is especially convenient to get to both a general and a specialty grocery store without a vehicle from any home in Fairview. Cambie Street is among the best streets for groceries. Additionally, owing to 500-odd restaurants and cafes in Fairview, there is almost always a spot to get a meal or a beverage just around the corner. It is also a very short stroll to an excellent variety of clothing stores, for example on Granville Street. As far as education is concerned, parents and their children will value that no matter where their home is situated in Fairview, daycares and schools are close by.

Character

Fairview is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this neighbourhood. Fairview is reasonably quiet, as the streets tend to be reasonably tranquil. It is easy to reach public green spaces from most locations within the neighbourhood since there are over 50 of them close by for residents to explore. Finally, finding lively streets in this area is very easy. There are very often masses of people around, there is a vast selection of entertainment venues, and with its about 50 bars, there are options for nighttime activities. Main streets, such as Broadway, are excellent for those who like going out.
