King George Corridor is a neighbourhood within Surrey, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

King George Corridor is a fairly pleasant part of Surrey for pedestrians; most daily needs are easy to meet without a car. Biking is also easy in this area because the cycling infrastructure is good. The car is very often the favoured method to move around in this part of Surrey. It is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway, such as Highway 99, from anywhere in King George Corridor, and it is convenient to park. However, travelling by public transit is difficult in King George Corridor. Nonetheless, residents are served by approximately 10 bus lines, and it is especially convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses.

Services

Families will welcome that wherever their property is situated in this neighbourhood, schools and daycares are close by. As far as food is concerned, it is very easy to access the nearest grocery store without the need to get in a car in this neighbourhood. Moreover, there are a fair number of options for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes. It is also convenient to reach a selection of clothing stores as a pedestrian.

Character

King George Corridor has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Most areas in King George Corridor are quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour, although that is not the case closer to Highway 99 or the railway line. However, there are over 50 green spaces nearby for residents to visit, such as Blaine Marine Park and Sunnyside Park, and they are very well-located, which makes them easy to reach. Lastly, although this area is not known for its vibrancy, with its around 10 bars, there are options for nighttime activities.

Housing

About 80% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. In this area, about 40% of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. Roughly one third of properties in this part of Surrey were built following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes.
