Hazelmere is a neighbourhood within Surrey, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Hazelmere is an extremely good part of Surrey for driving. It is especially convenient to park. Walking is not very feasible for house buyers in this part of Surrey as most daily needs are challenging to meet without a car. Hazelmere is also not particularly appropriate for cycling since there are few bike lanes, and there are a good number of hills for cyclists to brave.

Services

Purchasing one's groceries often demands the use of a car in Hazelmere. A limited variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well. In terms of education, primary schools are convenient to reach on foot from any location in Hazelmere. On the other hand, there are only a very small number of high schools and accordingly they can be a very long walk away.

Character

Hazelmere offers a great variety of green spaces to enjoy. It is easy to reach public green spaces from most locations within the neighbourhood, since there are about 30 of them close by for residents to discover, like Campbell Heights Biodiversity Preserve and Latimer Pond Park. It is relatively serene in this part of Surrey, thanks to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets.

About one third of properties in Hazelmere were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. The sizeable proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Roughly two thirds of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
