Valleyview is a neighbourhood within Kamloops, British Columbia, which is situated in the Greater Kamloops metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent medium of transportation in Valleyview. Finding a place to park is generally easy, and many houses for sale are a very short car ride from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. On the other hand, travelling by transit can be difficult in Valleyview by reason of the infrequent service. Nevertheless, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most residences. Walking is not very practical for residents in Valleyview as running common errands is impractical without a car. Commuting by bicycle is also sometimes difficult in this area because Valleyview has rather limited cycling infrastructure, and cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of elevation changes.

Services

Schools and daycares are convenient to access on foot from most houses for sale in Valleyview. In terms of food, property owners in this part of the city will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a rather long distance away. Character

Valleyview is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. There are about 20 public green spaces close by for residents to explore, including Capilano Park and Exhibition Park, and they are very well-situated, making it easy to access them. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - however some parts can be quite loud, especially closer to Yellowhead Offramp Highway, Trans-Canada Highway or the railway line.

Housing

In Valleyview, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 70% of the units in Valleyview and 30% are rented. About 45% of homes in this part of the city were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 2000s.
