Norgate is a neighbourhood within District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Norgate will attract physically active people because it is moderately suited for biking. More specifically, the bicycling network is reasonably good. This area is also moderately suitable for people who travel by foot; many daily errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Public transit riders may find few options in Norgate as a result of the infrequent service. Thankfully, there are about 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and it is very easy to find a nearby bus stop from most properties. In contrast, Norgate is very car friendly. It is convenient to park, and most properties for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway.

Services

It is very easy to get to both a general and a specialty grocery store by foot from any home in this part of the municipality. Moreover, there are a fair number of opportunities in close proximity for those who care about restaurants and cafes. It is also very easy to get to a selection of clothing stores by foot. With regards to education, parents and their children will value that wherever their property is located in Norgate, primary schools and daycares are nearby. On the other hand, there are only a very small number of high schools and consequently they can be a very long distance away.

Norgate is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this part of the municipality. Although the ambience is not the most lively in this part of District of North Vancouver with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located a short walk away. Norgate is excellent for those who need quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Reaching green spaces, like Klahanie Park, is very easy from most locations in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to check out.

Housing

In Norgate, many dwellings are single detached homes, and the remaining houses are mainly small apartment buildings. Around 45% of homes in this neighbourhood were built pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1990s and the 2000s. This part of District of North Vancouver also has a good variety of housing size options - it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
