Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Grousewoods is a neighbourhood within District of North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Grousewoods is a very convenient part of District of North Vancouver for driving. It is very easy to park. In contrast, the public transit in Grousewoods is rather poor. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close by. This part of the municipality is not especially cycling-friendly because bicycling is made arduous by the typically sloping area, and Grousewoods is home to sometimes poor bicycling infrastructure. Nonetheless, families often decide to travel by bicycle. Walking is also not very practical for property owners in Grousewoods as many daily needs are inconvenient to carry out without a car.

Services

Parents and their schoolchildren will value that no matter where their property is located in this part of the municipality, primary schools and daycares are nearby. On the other hand, families may find it very difficult to reach high schools as pedestrians. With regards to food, the closest grocery store in this part of District of North Vancouver is usually only a rather long trip away. Residents benefit from a few restaurants and coffee shops as well.

Character

Grousewoods is an excellent neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. There are around 10 green spaces close by for residents to discover, such as Cleveland Park and Capilano River Regional Park, and they are very well-located, which makes them very easy to reach. This part of the municipality is also wonderful for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

In Grousewoods, roughly 80% of buildings are single detached homes, and the remaining properties are mainly duplexes. This area experienced its most significant construction boom between 1980 and 1990, so most of the available housing stock is from this era. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy nearly 90% of the properties in the neighbourhood and the remainder are rented.
