Cape Horn is a neighbourhood within Coquitlam, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cape Horn is an extraordinarily good part of Coquitlam for getting around by car. It is convenient to park, and most houses for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 7 Offramp. In contrast, Cape Horn is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are ordinarily around the corner. This neighbourhood is moderately conducive to bicycling. This area is not especially suitable for those who prefer to get around by walking since most daily needs are sometimes difficult to meet without a car.

Services

A supermarket is typically reachable within a reasonably short distance from most properties for sale in Cape Horn. Likewise, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and residents are served by a few cafes as well. In terms of education, it is a short distance to reach daycares and schools from any location in Cape Horn.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced ambience will enjoy Cape Horn. Accessing green spaces in the neighbourhood, such as Riverview Forest and Mundy Park, is very easy since there are approximately 40 of them nearby for residents to discover. This part of the city is also very quiet, as the streets are usually very peaceful around Trans-Canada Highway or Highway 7 Offramp.

Housing

Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood while the rest are rented. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing most dwellings in this part of Coquitlam, while duplexes are also present in the housing stock. Around 40% of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the city is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
